Centre for Caring, Empowerment and Peace Initiative (CCEPI) is Non-Governmental Organization (NGO). CCEPI is dedicated to achieving its unique purpose to serve and care for vulnerable groups of people including Orphans and Vulnerable Children, Widows, Internally Displaced and Refugees, People Living with HIV/AIDS etc, regardless of their religious and cultural background. CCEPI is to implement a project on Favourable Protection Environment for IDPs and Refugee Returneesin Adamawa State, in partnership with UNHCR.

Programme and Reporting Officer

Responsibilities

  • Support planning and coordination of a programme activities

HR/Admin Officer

Responsibilities

·     Managing day-to-day personnel and administration operations of the office

·     Take lead in organizing trainings and staff development

Finance Assistant

Protection Officer

Responsibilities

·      Lead and coordinate Protection Monitors in the field and visit them regularly to check their work. 

·      Organize CCEPI’s protection programme with the objective of providing timely and effective protection to population of concern.

  • Oversee and manage individual protection cases, including those on SGBV and child protection

·      Develop and implement protection plan in areas such as child protection, SGBV and persons with specific needs, as part of the protection strategy

·      Assess protection needs and community assets to identify risks and vulnerabilities, including those related to age.

·      Involve and build up assets within the affected population and strengthen the capacity of displaced communities and other vulnerable groups to protect themselves.

·      Compile weekly/periodic reports on protection issues and activities and send same to the Programme officer

·      Undertake mainstreaming of protection approaches to address Child Protection and SGBV concerns across all sectors

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree equivalent or higher in Law, Political Science, Social Science or related field is required.

  • Oversee CCEPI’s SGBV prevention, response and coordination work

  • Research and collect information pertaining to SBGV cases

  • Work with communities to increase awareness about SGBV and engage community leaders to work with CSOs and advocate for SGBV services 

  • Act as CCEPI’s  SGBV focal person, establish and maintain contacts with other organizations

  • Coordinate with appropriate stakeholders in all aspects of activities planning, monitoring, and implementation

  • Verify, review, and correct data made available to you; and make same available when requested.

  • Maintain and update CCEPI’ database 

  • Be responsible for handling all CCEPI’s data-related matters and safeguarding same

  • Assist the reporting officer in compiling and preparing weekly reports

Human Rights Officer

Responsibilities

  • Pro-actively monitoring and building the capacities of local institutions and community mechanisms in the field of human and community rights, assessing/evaluating developments and proposing remedial actions when appropriate. This includes reporting, advocacy, as well as other forms of assistance or advice, aiming to improve compliance with international human rights standards and community rights principles;

  • Regularly meeting local counterparts to exchange and gather information on human and community rights-related issues, and assessing and reporting on developments, successes and concerns regarding compliance with human and community rights standards;

  • Is responsible to identify key human and community rights related issues in his/her area of responsibility and, where deemed necessary, following up with analytical reporting, including recommendations to CCEPI;

  • Assisting in project development, implementing project activities, and evaluating impact and achievements at the community;

  • Reaching out to all local communities/assessing their situation and reports on identified needs;

  • Drafting and assisting the drafting of policy recommendations that address specific human rights and community rights issues/concerns;

Protection Monitors (15 or More Position)

Responsibilities

  • Support and Coordinate vulnerability screening activities with relevant stakeholders to identify, screen and profile households and individuals who are the most vulnerable among IDPs and Returnees in the relevant communities.

  • Establish community based protection through support to PAG structures in relevant communities to ensure that the persons of concern are reached and provided with the needed support and assistance.

  • Hold community sensitization on Child Protection and SGBV through the following:

    • Awareness raising sessions on different child protection issues

    • Community discussions/focus group discussions

    • Emergency protection referrals on SGBV

  • Conduct household interviews aimed at understanding and prioritizing the immediate needs of IDPs and Returnees.

  • Participate in the distribution of NFIs

  • Participate in Post Distribution monitoring of items distributed

  • Work/coordinate with other stakeholders on the field for the establishment of effective referral pathways

  • Submit regular and timely report of activities and protection issues identified during protection monitoring.

  • Submit regular and timely report of SGBV and child protection cases identified on a weekly basis.
